ARC – Good For Her: A Second Chance Horror Romance

A story with Hollywood intrigue, miscommunication trope with enemies to lovers and chaos coordination with a revenge plot had me hooked from the beginning, finishing the entire book in one go.

Title: Good For Her: A Second Chance Horror Romance

Author: Tylor Paige

Released on: April 28th 2026

Rating: 4.5/5

Spice: 3/5

Tropes:

  • Revenge Plot / Kill List
  • Morally Gray FMC
  • MMC Golden Boy with Secrets
  • Blurred Lines Between Justice & Revenge
  • Second Chance (but make it toxic)
  • Final Girl Gone Rogue 🔪
  • “Good for Her” Feminine Rage

Quick Summary:

A revenge-driven Final Girl aka Evie Reyes returns to Hollywood with a kill list plus zero intention of playing nice especially with her ex-boyfriend now turn Hollywood playboy, Sebastian Shaw, sparks fly and mysteries are uncovered.

What worked for me:

I loved the Evie Reyes was relatable but unhinged and crazy. Her life is destroyed by Hollywood and she fights back, she doesn’t let those rich powerful men win and I am here for it. I love me a revenge plot.

The Hollywood horror backdrop was intriguing and not a lot of horror romance books are written with a celebrity backdrop with lights camera action. Additionally, it made sense because if you know anything about Hollywood, then the rich white man patriarchal rule is how things were maybe even still done with a lot of studios today i.e. Harvey Weinstein type vibes and similarities.

The suspense versus the spice was well balanced and really well written with no loss to any momentum of the writing or overall plot. It was believable which I really appreciated.

What didn’t work for me:

I did find the “insta-trust/insta-deal” dynamic a bit unbelievable between the FMC and MMC when you take into account the FMC trauma associated with the MMC and Hollywood overall. It was a bit too quick but that could be why the read was fast paced.

I did find the ending slightly rushed but still so satisfying. I would have like a tad bit more character build up with the MMC and the aftermath of the bombshell he shares with the world.

Overall: I will be purchasing a hardcopy. You should too!
