First Thoughts
If your reading personality thrives on “this is absolutely unhinged but I cannot stop reading,” then Smutty Deals With Demons is probably going to crawl directly into your brain and redecorate. Ivy Fane delivers exactly what the title promises: demons, deals, chaos, temptation, and a truly ridiculous amount of spice.
This collection feels like stepping into a supernatural nightclub where every demon is hot, morally questionable, and very interested in making terrible decisions with humans. Honestly? The title undersells how addictive these stories become once you settle into the world.
What Worked For Me:
- The Demon MMCs Had Personality
One of my biggest issues with paranormal romance collections is when every supernatural love interest blends together into the same broody template. Thankfully, Ivy Fane gives the demons distinct personalities and dynamics, which kept the stories feeling fresh.
Some were manipulative and dangerous in a delicious “this is a bad idea” way, while others leaned more protective, cocky, or emotionally wrecked beneath the surface. The variety made binge-reading the collection incredibly easy.
- The Spice Was SPICY
This is not a “fade to black” experience. This book fully commits to the erotic fantasy vibe, and if you are here for supernatural spice and tension-filled bargaining with demons, you will absolutely get fed.
The chemistry lands quickly, (they are short novella length) but the author still manages to build anticipation and tension before everything explodes into chaos. Several scenes genuinely had me pausing like: “Ma’am. Respectfully. WHAT is happening.”
And I mean that as a compliment.
- Fast-Paced & Bingeable
The collection format works in my opinion because the stories move quickly without feeling rushed and enough spice to satisfy the reader. Every entry delivers enough world building and emotional tension to keep you invested while still maintaining the addictive “just one more chapter” pacing.
This is one of those books where you accidentally read way past bedtime because your brain keeps saying:“Okay but what fresh demon nonsense happens next?” I only type that because indeed I stayed up until 3am to finish each story.
- The Paranormal Atmosphere
The magical deals, dangerous bargains, and seductive, filthy supernatural energy gave the collection a dark & fun atmosphere without becoming overwhelmingly heavy. It balances humor, danger, and spice surprisingly well. If it is up your wheelhouse, I would go so far to describe it as a palate cleanser for those really dark romances.
What Didn’t Work For Me:
- Some Emotional Storylines Felt Short
Because this is a collection, a few relationships developed extremely fast. While the chemistry was believable, I occasionally wanted more emotional depth before the characters went fully ride-or-die for each other.
- Suspension of Disbelief Is Required
This is absolutely the kind of book where you need to embrace the chaos and enjoy the ride. If you prefer slow-burn fantasy with detailed lore and heavy plot structure, this will feel more spice-forward than story-forward.
Additional Neurospicy Thoughts:
This collection scratched the exact ADHD-reading itch for me that I was experiencing prior to starting in large part due to the pacing constantly rewarded me with my any and all attention I gave it. It stimulated my hyperfocus and somehow flipped that focus switch I had needed for days. There’s always another twist, another spicy moment, another demon reveal, or another “oh no she absolutely should not have done that” situation waiting around the corner.
The short-format storytelling made it incredibly easy to binge without losing momentum, which is honestly perfect for readers who struggle with slower fantasy pacing.
Was it chaotic? Yes.
Was it excessive? Also…yes.
Did I devour it anyway? Absolutely.
If you love demon romance, morally gray supernatural love interests, and spicy paranormal chaos wrapped into a bingeable collection, Smutty Deals With Demons delivers exactly what it promises.
Would I Recommend It?
Yes, especially for readers who enjoy:
- Demon romance
- Monster/paranormal spice
- Fast-paced erotic fantasy
- Possessive supernatural MMCs
- Interconnected romance collections
- “This should be illegal but I’m obsessed” energy
Perfect for fans of chaotic paranormal romance with zero shame about the spice level.
Neurospicy Rating: It isn’t living rent free but I recommend it.
My Overall Rating: 4/5
